A key component of our risk management services is a practice assessment. This service provides an invaluable tool for physicians and dentists to help eliminate or reduce risk exposures. Our risk managment consultants will conduct on-site assessments of physician practices to identify system deficiencies and liability exposures and provide effective risk management recommendations.
The assessment consists of an interview with key staff members, a tour of the facility premises, and a review of selected patient records. The review focuses on the following areas:

- HIPAA compliance
- Policies and procedures
- Pharmaceuticals and sample medications
- Equipment and supplies
- Diagnostic functions and follow-up
- Infection control
- OSHA compliance
- Credentialing and training
- Patient communications
- Emergency procedures
- Patient record keeping and documentation
- Surgical services
A confidential, written report of the assessment citing both strengths and weaknesses is provided to the practice. The report will also contain appropriate risk management strategies for addressing the issues which have been identified.
